Helen

071121

Puppies
3 Rounds for time:
Row 2 min and hope it's 400m
21 x 12kg dumbbell swings
9 pullups

10:58
Actually that's 2 rounds for time and 1 round for a start where I forgot to start the watch.

Pull-ups were a mixture of dead hang and jumping, with one proper kip in the first round. One day I'll get two in a row again.

Jeff Martin Fan club

I'll post these here as they seem to be popular.

I did them as a joke because LauraR and I discussed setting up a Jeff Martin fan club. Our admiration and respect for the man is enormous, but that doesn't stop either of us from winding him up and he gives as good as he gets.

Specifically they relate to this thread on the Brand X forum

And I did an Australasian version

For people who don't know, ANZAC is technically Australia New Zealand Army Corps, dating back to WWI and the disastrous Gallipoli campaign in particular, but it's come to be a generic term for Australia and NZ.

On the geeky side, the images were assembled using Inkscape and the Gimp.
They're capable of much more than my limited abilites have demonstrated here.

Then a walk around the block with my wife to cool down and work my ankle a bit. About a mile. Untimed.

SDHP, Ring dips 071113

Been sick with a 'flu that's laying waste @ work. It's left me with little stamina, do something - nap has become my routine lately

7 rounds for time:
10 SDHP 20kg
10 beginners bench dips - feet on filing cabinet

9:53

Could have used weight on the SDHPs.
Wished I was a few kilos lighter during the dips.

Deadlifts 071108

Deadlift 3-3-3-3-3 reps.
Definitely cherry-picked this one, and was lazy with it.

Deadlifts
3 x 60kg
3 x 80kg
3 x 80kg
3 x 80kg
3 x 80kg

Then as I was putting the weights away, because I was holding one in each hand and my 20 kg plates look like this , I did a farmers walk around the house twice. I don't if that helped or hurt my ankle, but it was fun.

Does anyone know if those plates really are solid rubber? They're supposed to be and I can't get the strongest magnet I can find to stick to them, but I wonder with those holes in them. I'm unlikely to be hoisting them over head too often for a while, so it won't matter too much if they aren't.

Front Squats

BackSquat 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 reps

Did front squats instead of back squats and triples instead of singles. I'm not stupid enough to think that two light workouts a week apart has me ready for heavy squats.

Front Squats:
7 x 3 x 40kg
And as I was holding the bar, I also did
Shoulder Presses:
7 x 3 x 40kg
in between and put the battery back in my step-son's car and shuffled the vehicles around to make room for marauding in-laws this weekend.

I don't know if it's embarrassing or funny that the presses were easier than the squats. Mostly I think, it just is.

I always was a rotten squatter. Rolling Eyes

Nasty girls 071104

Buttercups:
3 rounds:
20 Squats
10 Beginners Pull ups - feet on filing cabinet
10 Assisted Dips - feet on filing cabinet
10 Hang Power Cleans 20kg

7:50

Traps and shoulders didn't cramp, so it may be just my ankle I need to get right now. Fingers crossed.
That and keeping up the remedial exercises I found on T-nation. Post on those to come "one day"

Long J.T.

I scaled it waaaaay back to:
15 HSPU, knees on a 2 drawer filing cabinet
15 ring dips with feet on the same filing cabinet and the bottom of
the rings level with the top of the filing cabinet
15 push-ups. Didn't really have a use for the filing cabinet for those.

I have no idea of the time. Not very long

This was "a can I do it" workout, not a "how fast can I do it" workout. I can and by Sunday I'll know if would be able to do it twice. If I can I plan to to a baby version of "Kaybel" on Sunday and
then it's back to WODs on Tuesday.

Now to figure out what I can do about my ankle. :-(
